Further proof that i married up. Yeah, i think we were about 12 when this was taken.
i was thinking back over my life, ministry, friends, churches…Brook and i have served with some amazing people! One of the coolest things about that is that most are still serving and going strong in life and ministry.
i think longevity is one of the strongest statements about something’s worth. Look at books or bands or architecture or ministry or marriage. Flash-in-the-pans come and go. There are lots who run on the scene loudly and then whimper off…i’m talking about day after day, month after month, year after year working and sweating and making it work with what you got.
Brook and i are so blessed to have people we call close friends still serving, not just serving, but THRIVING in ministry after 10 or 20 years! Mark & Laurel Smith, Gus & Peg, Curt & Deb, Nelson & Regina, David & Jackie, Randy & April, Beth & Stu, Tom & Lisa, Dawn & Joe, Gary & Kim, Sam & Kim, Glenn & Deb, Phil & Debbie…and SOOOO many others who have touched and inspired us thru the years.
Line upon line, precept upon precept…build it…daily day by daily day. Each moment and each decision count and build a foundation for the next one. Stay faithful, stay true to who you are. There are no short-cuts to longevity and wisdom. Stay the course!
( i think this was more for me than anyone else, but hopefully it was a word for us all)
